Alana is a compassionate psychologist who brings energy and dedication to her work. She deeply values connection, providing a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and validated. Her approach empowers individuals to embrace their emotions and navigate challenges in ways that feel meaningful to them—whether through reflection and healing, broadening perspectives, setting practical goals, or building confidence in self-advocacy.

Alana has a special interest in trauma, particularly childhood trauma and the lasting impact of early attachment experiences. She is also fascinated by the historical roots of relational dynamics and how they shape our interactions today. In addition, she enjoys working with adolescents and adults facing anxiety or mood-related challenges, as well as neurodivergent individuals who bring unique perspectives to the world.

Alana has spent several years at Marsden, developing her expertise in working therapeutically with individuals across all ages and conducting cognitive and autism assessments. Her personal journey has been profoundly shaped by having a sibling with a progressive disability—an experience that has given her deep empathy for those who face adversity. Witnessing a life unfold against the odds has been both emotional and humbling, instilling in her a deep appreciation for resilience, hope, and the beauty found in life’s smallest moments. She believes in offering support to those who are building the capacity to support themselves, with the ultimate goal of empowering individuals to take charge of their own lives.

Alana brings a wealth of experience from diverse settings, including years of working with children in coaching and mental health roles. She has also developed specialized expertise in perinatal mental health through her work at Sutherland Community Centre. Her experience in trauma therapy began at South Coast Private Hospital, where she served as a group leader for the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder program. Beyond her clinical work, Alana is passionate about mentoring and supporting emerging psychologists as they develop their skills and confidence. She understands firsthand the challenge of balancing theoretical knowledge, practical application, and client-centered care. As a board-approved supervisor, she provides guidance to those completing pathway programs, registrar programs, and individuals with full registration, fostering the next generation of skilled and compassionate clinicians.

When she’s not at work, Alana feels most at home outdoors, especially in the sunshine. She loves staying active—whether it’s running, swimming, or rock climbing—and is always looking for her next challenge. She also enjoys unwinding with a good book or heading out on little adventures with her family.
