Issy Terrett

Clinical Psychology Registrar

Issy grew up and studied her undergraduate degree in Sydney. In 2021, she decided to make the sea change and pursued her Master’s of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong. After travelling the world for the first half of 2023, Issy finds herself living back on the south coast, embracing the quieter lifestyle with her partner.

Issy’s openness to new experiences – whether it involves travelling the world in a van, savouring unfamiliar foods, mastering the art of dance, forging connections with strangers, or even attempting to surf big waves – has shaped her into the person she is today. Additionally, in her early 20s, Issy faced the sudden loss of someone very close to her, which was both devastating and a poignant reminder of the complexities of what it means to be human. Issy believes that these experiences have made her more open-minded, relatable, and approachable, and given her the ability to hold space for others in a warm and nurturing way.

Issy is passionate about understanding how each person thinks and experiences life and enjoys helping individuals harness their unique strengths and quirks to create change and growth. Her approach revolves around fostering awareness, embracing authenticity, nurturing creativity, and cultivating compassion. Issy deeply values the diversity and individuality of every person and is committed to tailoring therapy to the needs and preferences of her clients. She also provides assessments for those with learning differences and ADHD, and has a passion for working with and supporting neurodivergent individuals.

When Issy isn’t working, you might find her out in nature, practising yoga and spending time with loved ones. On long weekends, she might be exploring the south coast and learning how to surf. And if she’s not doing any of that, she’s probably watching crime TV series whilst her tastebuds feast on some Red Rock Deli chips!
